Our annual June camp is almost here (10 – 13 June), and we are excited for 4 days of fellowship with each other! But before you leave for camp, do remember to pack your ABCs for camp – ALWAYS BE CARING.
Always be caring for the camp organizing committee members, who have put in a lot of effort to plan this camp for you. Even when things don’t always go according to plan, show your appreciation and thankfulness to them anyway. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18).”
Always be caring for your fellow campers. Let the elderly and those with young children go before you at the buffet line. Lend a hand to someone who is struggling with their bags. Look out for those in need. “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others (Philippians 2:3-4).”
Always be caring for the bus drivers, resort staff, and others whom we might interact with during the camp. If there is a jam at the Causeway, being angry with the bus driver won’t make the bus go any faster. Thank the bus drivers when you get off, and do not leave your rubbish on the bus. Be thankful and polite to the resort staff, such as the housekeeper, dining room staff, etc. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).”
