It’s a new year. We want to do better, who doesn’t? We make resolutions so that we can be better husbands, wives, parents, children, colleagues, and Christians. This year, let us go to the Psalms to make resolutions so that we may have a blessed year.
Resolution 1: I WILL STAY FAITHFUL TO GOD
“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4).
Resolution 2: I WILL SERVE THE LORD
“I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.” (Psalm 40:8)
Resolution 3: I WILL BE THANKFUL FOR THE BLESSINGS
“To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.” (Psalm 30:12)
Resolution 4: I WILL TELL OTHERS ABOUT GOD
“Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” (Psalm 51:13)
Resolution 5: I WILL WORSHIP GOD WITH MY BRETHREN
“I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.” (Psalm 22:22)
Resolution 6: I WILL CONFESS MY SINS BEFORE GOD
“For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” (Psalm 38:18)
Resolution 7: I WILL NOT MIX WITH WICKED PEOPLE
“I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.” (Psalm 26:5)
Resolution 8: I WILL MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD
“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” (Psalm 119:97)
Resolution 9: I WILL WATCH MY WORDS
“I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.” (Psalm 39:1)
Resolution 10: I WILL BE FERVENT IN PRAYERS
“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” (Psalm 55:17)
Resolution 11: I WILL BE HOLY IN CONDUCT
“I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” (Psalm 101:2)
Resolution 12: I WILL BE JOYFUL IN THE LORD
“I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.” (Psalm 9:2)
